Omah Lay Cries Out Over His Arrest On Twitter, Says Uganda Is Not Letting The Nigerian Government Intervene

Nigerian artist, Omah Lay who confirmed last night that he was arrested in Uganda has taken to twitter to cry out about his rights being breached.

The Artist was arrested for allegedly breaking Uganda Covid-19 protocols

In a series of tweet, the singer made mention that he wasn’t given a right to fair hearing. He also wrote that Uganda is not letting the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs step into the case. As they have been denied the opportunity to secure their (Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi who were also detained alongside Omah Lay) release.

The Ugandan Police Force wrote on twitter that they have been charged to court in Makindye on Charges of Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases.

The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond, were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans. All remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020.
